The century-old winery, a benchmark in the wine industry since 1858, which inaugurated the City of Wine in 2006 with a building designed by architect Frank O. Gehry, now reaffirms its high reputation in the wine industry, being awarded the second prize for the best vineyard in the world.
In the 2021 and 2022 editions, Marqués de Riscal was also chosen as the second best vineyard and winery in the world in the prestigious ranking of the best wine tourism destinations in the world. A recognition of the powerful heritage of this winery, and the continuous effort of its entire team that, beyond its wines, offers visitors a universe of innovative wine tourism experiences of the highest level.
WORLD’S BEST VINEYARDS 2023
In this particular edition in which Rioja has hosted the celebration of the World’s Best Vineyards 2023, Alejandro Aznar, president of the company, attended the ceremony and collected the award from the organizer of the event, Andrew Reed.
During the ceremony, Marqués de Riscal wished to congratulate Bodegas Beronia, host of the gala where the list of the 50 wineries included in the competition was announced, as well as the other Spanish wineries included in the prestigious ranking.
The company extended its congratulations to the rest of the participating wineries and, in particular, to Argentina’s Catena Zapata, which came first in the ranking. Finally, it congratulated the Rioja Designation of Origin for its great organization of the event.
