In the fertile lands of Darwin (Australia), Maha Bliss mangoes are now being cultivated: a variant that is born with certain qualities, such as its super-sweet taste and its ease of consumption. It has a much thinner and flatter seed than the bulky mango seeds.
The owners and growers of Tous Garden -50 kilometres south of Darwin- bought a neighbouring undeveloped plot of land, on which they intend to plant some 150 hectares of this Thai variety -with some 40,000 trees- over the next few years, for which they own the breeding rights in Australia.
Maha Bliss is presented as the ‘clone’ of a popular very sweet Thai mango with a floral aroma and a tiny seed called ‘Mahachanok‘, which farmers from the Northern Territory Tous Garden brought to the region in 2016.
