Machi Machi, which has just debuted its first national shop in Barcelona, presents two new stimulating expressions: stainless steel flasks customised with Basquiat’s drawings, and a new drink that also dilutes the artist’s identity through its composition.

With this collaboration, the globally successful Taiwanese tea brand seeks to reflect the ideals shared with the acclaimed French artist, highlighting that life is art and art is an energy capable of inspiring hearts,’ read the brand’s notes.

This philosophy connects the artist’s works with his handcrafted combinations of tea, fruit zuma and milk with flavoured tapioca pearls with which Machi Machi has been captivating new generations of bubble teas ‘who believe in taste, comfort and art’ for 6 years now.

The collaboration takes the form of two unique designs doodled with the artist’s childhood cartoons, framed with biblical verses and random naïf-inspired symbols, while ‘Hello Sweetea’ features more ordered lines with a collage of scientific, religious and pop culture symbols, representing Basquiat’s aesthetic language.

The Basquiat tribute also includes the refreshing non-alcoholic ‘Fruit Sparkling Mojito‘ drink in which the energetic, bold and vibrant character of the artist is dissolved through its combination of ingredients: fresh fruit, mint leaves, sugar and sparkling water.
