From the Mexican licuachelas, which caused a sensation a few years ago served in blender glasses, a great variety of micheladas have proliferated. Among them, the rotochelas, served in a mini taco, or the wachicoldrin, in a gasoline carafe. But here we are going to focus on a special fancy one called kittychela, served in a Hello Kitty glass.
Although their origins, who created them or how they really came about are unknown, this drink has become a favorite among Mexicans and tourists alike, who go into the streets of CDMX to get their hands on one of them.
Being a variant of the michelada, the kittychelas have lemon, salt, a mixture of sauces and cold beer. All this mixture is served in a Hello Kitty glass, of which there are countless versions in different colors and textures. The glass must be frosted with traditional or fruity chamoy and have a variety of sweet and sour candies on the lid.
The question is: where can you find this viral drink in CDMX? In some of the tianguis, public markets with street stalls set up in the city, as well as in establishments such as Jordan & Keny, the business that created the tustichelas, which also offers this version of the drink.
This place, located in the tianguis of La Lagunilla in the CDMX, would go viral for its beers or drinks served in plastic cups in the shape of Hello Kitty, frosted with chamoy and topped with baubles on top of the head of the Japanese kitty.
