KFC is making its foray into cosmetics with its first fragrance: a seemingly disruptive launch that syncs up with the trend for ‘gourmand’ fragrances, which smell of specific foods such as pastries, desserts or other types of food and drink.

The US chain’s debut fragrance pays tribute to the flavour of the latest dish on its menu: a chicken burger, crispy onions and tangy BBQ sauce. The perfume thus dilutes all those flavours into an aromatic expression through notes of smoky wood and charcoal that recall sizzling spices and marinated meats; while its base notes evoke its woody, earthy base.

At KFC we like to think outside the box, so naturally when we created a burger this irresistible, we had to bottle it! Here’s No 11 Eau de BBQ, which captures the delicious aroma of our new Ultimate BBQ burger, making you sizzle with every spritz,” said Phoebe Syms, Brand Manager, KFC&I. “This is for the true burger fan. “It’s for true fans of KFC and barbecue, because who said a fragrance can’t be finger-licking good?’

The ‘No 11 Eau de BBQ‘ perfume is now available exclusively for pre-order from the KFC Shop for around 14 euros. 100% of the proceeds will go to The KFC Foundation, which supports ‘grassroots organisations across the country that are empowering young people to unlock their potential and build a positive future’.
