Chef K reveals to PEOPLE how she got her start in the Kardashian-Jenner family kitchen and the details behind the iconic parties she culinary helms.

Uy’s career has been spent in celebrity kitchens, traversing a long list of Hollywood’s who’s who, despite only really getting her start in the spotlight due to the Kardashian’s powerful media impact.

Her origins in stardom can be traced back to Ryan Seacrest, the former American Idol host, when she became his personal chef in New York when he was tapped to host ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ in 2017.

After passing through her kitchen, he put him in touch with Kris Jenner, who introduced him to the Kardashian’s sumptuous culinary universe. Today, the Filipina chef has been working for the family for more than a decade, first more intimately in their kitchens, then exclusively in their big space events, birthdays and parties, such as Kourtney’s bachelorette party.

This past Christmas, for example, Uy helped recreate one of Kris’ favourite dishes through a collaboration with Rao’s Homemade: an aubergine stew with ricotta, turkey stuffing and Rao’s homemade marinara.

As for the Kardashian-Jenners’ holiday meals, the chef explains that they are structured around themed dinners that are spread out over three days such as: ‘Mexican Tuesday, Asian Wednesday, Italian Thursday’.
