Jose Andrés once again pays tribute to the region that inspired his cuisine and nurtured his gastronomic identity. And he does so through the publication of a new cookbook entitled ‘ZAYTINYA: Delicious Mediterranean Dishes from Greece, Turkey, and Lebanon‘, in which he includes some of his favorite dishes from his restaurant that encompasses the flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean from Greece to Lebanon and Turkey.
Zaytinya, beyond naming her famous flagship restaurant that has been in Washington D.C. for 20 years-and two in New York-altering the name of the restaurant. -and two in New York- disrupting the dining scene, now becomes the locale and/or the storyline that underpins this new culinary work. ‘It’s a region I’m in love with for its food, its people and, most of all, its history. I hope you like the 150 recipes as much as I do’, expresses the chef in his Instagram profile. Thus, this new piece brings together a collection of 150 recipes inspired by the dishes served at the eponymous restaurant of the famous chef.
THE TRIBUTE TO ‘ZAYTINYA’
Since chef José Andrés opened the doors of this restaurant twenty years ago, Zaytinya has been full of people who come to enjoy his creative adaptations of classic dishes from Greece, Turkey and Lebanon, and in general, his menu with which he honors the traditions of the region in a contemporary key.
However, if you haven’t had the chance to taste there his iconic ‘Crispy Brussels Sprouts Afelia’, the ‘Adana Kebabs’ or the ‘Greek Yogurt Parfait’, now you can do it from home.
