Jordi Roca’s trick for making a bikini “from another level” and two different sandwich proposals

The youngest of the Roca family, who recently opened the Rocambolesc Bikinería, explained his trick to achieve a top mixed sandwich.

A few months ago, Jordi Roca embarked on a new Rocambolesc project, this time opening his own Bikinería, specializing in the traditional mixed sandwich, but gourmet. Now, the Roca’s pastry chef gave an interview on the program Ahora o nunca on La 1, where he revealed some tricks to make the best bikini possible.

For Jordi, anything that fits between two slices of bread could be considered a bikini. But if you want to take your sandwiches to another level, the chef stresses the importance of the choice of bread. It must be a foamy bread, containing a reasonable amount of yeast and with a well-distributed bubble. The other tip revealed by the pastry chef is butter. If you spread plenty of butter on the outside of the bread, you will get a very tasty mix.

Two other Jordi Roca’s sandwiches proposals

In addition to the classic bikini, made with sweet ham, sliced cheese and butter, Jordi Roca also proposed two original alternatives to surprise with a dish as basic as a sandwich.

The first proposal was with Iberian ham, mozzarella cheese, truffle sauce and, of course, butter. While another delicious sandwich idea was with butter, pastrami, mustard and sauerkraut. For both elaborations, the final touch is given by the griddle of the sandwich maker.
