The prestigious chef Joan Roca has teamed up with Squadra Pizza Lab to design the perfect pizza, which will be available for a limited time only. The Catalan chef has teamed up with this emerging pizza chain that is causing a sensation for its square pizzas with creative and groundbreaking proposals.
For this seasonal pizza by Joan Roca, they propose a pizza based on tomato, mozzarella, sobrasada, goat’s cheese, rocket, basil, grapes and red fruit reduction. A real explosion of flavours that you can order for €14.50 at one of Squadra Pizza Lab’s three locations in Catalonia or via Glovo. Of course, if you want to try it, you have to hurry because it will only be available for a limited time.
To create this exclusive recipe, the members of Squadra Pizza Lab went to the facilities of El Celler de Can Roca to work hand in hand with Joan in the elaboration of this exquisite proposal.
The square pizza revolution
Squadra Pizza Lab was born at the end of 2020 in Girona with a small business run by four lifelong friends who decided to start a pizza business. Before opening their first restaurant, Adrià Reixach, Juan Pablo Claret, Joel Serra and Marc Almeda decided to train in pizza making because they had never made a pizza before. To do so, they turned to one of the best pizza masters in the world, Jesús Marquina.
They quickly began to rise like wildfire thanks to the quality of the product and also to the square shape of the pizzas. There are currently 3 locations: in Girona, Barcelona and La Cerdanya. They are also aiming to open eight more in Catalonia by 2025 and to expand throughout the rest of Spain.
At the moment they are doing well, and with proposals such as the seasonal pizza by Joan Roca, they have made their mark as one of the leading pizzerias in Spain.
We’ll see if they soon innovate with other pizza options like the bagel pizza that is causing a sensation in New York.
