Garner never ceases to amaze us with a host of mouth-watering recipes, and his step-by-step culinary processes, always accompanied by a large dose of sarcasm.
For this new episode of her cooking show, the film icon prepares a lemon tart with olive oil with the help of her friends Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, the restaurateurs behind some of Jennifer’s favourite LA restaurants, such as Son of a Gun.
THE RECIPE
With the ingredients that can be found in the Instagram post below, we get down to work. First of all, preheat the oven to 350°, while you make a homogeneous mixture of the eggs, oil and sugar; then subtly add the milk, amaro, zest, lemon juice and vanilla.
In another large bowl, mix the dry ingredients, stirring the flour until fluffy with a spoon or fork. As can be seen in the clip, Jen spoons the flour and levels it into a measuring cup instead of scooping it with the spoon. This technique compacts the flour.
The dry and wet ingredients are then whisked together until they are unified, regardless of any lumps. The result is then poured into the mould, sprinkled with raw sugar from edge to edge. Then bake in the oven for an hour until the top is caramelised. Finally, just take it out, leave it to cool and enjoy this delicious springtime dessert.
