Inside the VANDYTHEPINK x McDonald’s fast food streetwear collection

The iconic Korean designer of contemporary menswear delves into the McDonald's universe to celebrate the 40th anniversary of chicken McNuggets.

McDonald’s continues to serve up exciting collaborations with fashion brands, now with Korean-American designer Vandy The Pink. A collaboration in which they present a collection of clothing products and lifestyle items revolving around the new edition of ‘Team McNuggets’. And we’re loving it.

In this dual exploration of gastronomy through fashion, and vice versa, they reimagine the classic McDonald’s campaign from the 80’s, in which the ‘team’ of Ball, Bell, Boot and Bone appears accompanied by Coach McNugget and Assistant Coach McNugget.

VANDYTHEPINK x McDonald’s Hong Kong then offers a unique twist to its classic Chicken McNuggets menu through VANDY’s creative design graphics, characterized by his cartoonish and naïve style that often merges with the world of gastronomy. A timeless source of inspiration for this artist who has served the fashion system from French fry chairs to burger-filled pillows.

Through an Instagram post, the brands unveiled the collection, which includes a customized Happy Meal box, as well as chicken Nuggets plushies, socks and a tote bag.

Beyond that, the duo has launched ‘McNuggets Land‘: an interactive virtual game based on the creation of McNugget shapes in the metaverse, as well as an exclusive collection of NFTs and special laser tattoos that further elevate this experience to pay tribute to their iconic product. Unfortunately for us, however, the VANDYTHEPINK collection for McDonald’s will only be available in Hong Kong.
