The series ‘Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain’ will premiere on CNN on 27 April, and has already given us some previews featuring cameos by chefs of the calibre of Dabiz Muñoz and Ferran Adrià. It is a new project in which the actress has wanted to glimpse her infinite love for Spanish culture, with which she feels a strong connection through her ancestors.

In the docuseries, in which she travels around Spain in eight episodes, Eva Longoria is surprised to discover some traditional dishes such as chicharrón. What do you think this chicharrón is? asks Muñoz, to which she replies: ‘shiitake mushrooms’. Laughing, he explains that it is actually duck tongue, surprising the actress as she was unaware that ‘ducks have tongues’. This humorous clip is in addition to other previews showing her gastronomic stops at legendary places in Madrid such as La Tasquería, where chef Javi Estévez shows her his suckling pig’s head.
In Madrid, Longoria also visited Heba Kharouf’s trendy restaurant Farah, and also travelled to Chinchón to meet with Venezuelan influencer Alejandra Morrison.
On this gastronomic journey, the actress also travelled to the north to connect with her Asturian roots, specifically from Longoria. She filmed part of the series there, visiting the small town where her family comes from. From the area, Longoria did not want to miss the moment of meeting the chef Pepe Solla in Galicia, who told her the secrets of cooking octopus, while tasting Galician beef. The tour also included the pintxo route in San Sebastian, where he tasted some legendary tapas such as gildas, and made a stop in Vizcaya to meet Eneko Atxa and his starred gastronomy at Azurmendi.
In addition to all this, there are other sequences in which she enjoys meals with Ferran Adrià or Rafa Zafra on a boat in the Mediterranean, as well as delving into the flavours of the south with Dani García in his restaurant El Sombrero, with which she has just ‘discovered the rich culture of Spain and its bold and diverse cuisine that have captivated her for as long as she can remember’, according to what the actress revealed in a statement released by CNN.
