If you feel like trying a different soft drink, today we bring you one of the most typical drinks in regions like India. Rooh Afza is a concentrated syrup made from natural ingredients such as rusa petals, herbs, fruits and other extracts. This syrup is usually mixed with water and milk and poured into a large bowl with ice and then served in individual glasses. It was originally conceived as a medicinal drink created by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed in the early 20th century, with the aim of soothing the symptoms of extreme heat. It is also a popular refreshment during Ramadan.
How can you prepare it at home?
In order to make it at home you would need ingredients such as a jar of Rooh Afza syrup -which you can buy through Amazon, for example-, mint leaves, lemon and orange juice, sugar, some chopped nuts, water or milk and ice.
Then, just put the water or milk in a bowl. Then add the two tablespoons of Rooh Afza syrup and stir to mix well. Then add the sugar to taste and add the mint leaves, the fruit juice, the nuts and, finally, the ice.
