It seems that we are still living in the plastic world of Barbie. An era or macro-trend that continues to bring to the table themed gastronomic versions inspired by Mattel’s doll with which to delve into and spice up your kitchen. Now, specifically, with its new ‘Barbiecue’ sauce.
Mattel feeds our fantasy with Heinz Classic Barbiecue Sauce: a tribute to the 65th anniversary of Barbie, Mattel and Heinz UK, featuring an unusual blend of vegan mayonnaise and barbecue sauce.
Heinz UK unveiled the sauce in an Instagram post in August last year, along with a bottle of its other special iteration: Tomato Kenchup.
This new sauce from Barbieland gets its distinctive pink colour from beetroot extract, which the brand suggests using to ‘brighten up a burger’, both in an aesthetic and taste sense. Initially, it will be available exclusively in the UK and Spain, although there are plans to expand to other markets in the future.
