Harry Styles unexpectedly visited the capital over the weekend. A trip in which, beyond attending the KALORAMA festival, he would take to the international stage the tortillas of La Martinuca. And the fact is that the artist visited the local Barquillo street twice, asking for the flavors of onion confit and green bell pepper version.
The British star would be captivated by the elaborations of La Martinuca, the leading tortilla brand in Spain that produces 3,000 homemade tortillas a week. There he would opt for the classic omelette with onion, made with an onion confit in its own juice for hours at low temperature, which is then added to the egg that is mixed with a base of fried potato and normal onion.
On his second visit, the artist opted for the tortilla with green bell pepper, reaffirming his great love for the Spanish omelette of La Martinuca. This preparation stands out for its texture and flavor, as a result of a precise elaboration; in which the diced Italian green bell pepper is cooked first, then poached for an hour and mixed with egg and potato, obtaining a cream that is brought to the point of cooking mellow representative of the house.
