Generation Z projects a new trend on the virtual platform, consisting of exploring foreign supermarkets when they travel; as if it were a museum in which to discover new works and delve into the culture of the country through local food.

The ‘grocery store tourism‘ becomes the new obsession of TikTok that has generated a new digital microuniverse in which content creators share their findings in grocery stores; while commenting on all the products or items they purchase.

Fashion is a gastronomic journey through the depths and shelves of supermarkets as a kind of cultural experience to find ‘relics’ in the form of souvenirs.

One of the creators commented: ‘I always always always always always always go to grocery stores when I travel abroad. They are different kinds of souvenirs, which we can enjoy afterwards’. Another added: ‘Grocery shopping is my favorite sport. It’s one of the first things I do when I travel. And also the last thing I do to replenish my favorite discoveries’.
