The American actor wanted to intervene in the world of condiments to make them healthier. And he has done it in a big way: with his own brand called ‘Smash Kitchen’, a line of organic sauces without artificial additives.
Glen Powell has been inspired by Texas family meals and the ‘epic barbecues’ he had with his family throughout his childhood and adolescence; food as an ‘expression of love’, as he puts it in his own words.
Smash Kitchen presents a range of condiments such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and barbecue sauce in organic versions, made with ingredients such as free-range eggs and vine-ripened organic tomatoes.
‘Through fitness, I became more aware and informed about healthier foods, and began to see how many questionable ingredients were hiding in pantry staples. It was clear that we needed to create a clean brand of condiments, no question, just fantastic flavours that connect us to the moments we love. For me, that’s gathering around the table with family and friends’.
