The Madrid Academy of Gastronomy has just celebrated the 7th Edition of the Gastronomy Awards of the Community of Madrid. Held at the Real Casa de Correo, this event recognizes the best of the region’s gastronomy sector. Only 5 days after the appointment of the new president of the Academy, Rogelio Enríquez, in this seventh edition, awards were once again given in different categories.
The celebration was attended by personalities such as the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who also presented the award for best Restaurant/Cuisine, which went to Ugo Chan – who won the Tapas Magazine Golden T in 2022.
Another outstanding category was the ‘A Lifetime Achievement’ award, whose recognition was divided among three winners. On the one hand, Juanjo López Bedmar, from La Tasquita de Enfrente, but also Felix Colomo Dominguez, from Las Cuevas de Luis Candelas and La Posada de la Villa and Paco Ron, from Viavélez.
In the innovative proposal category, the award went to the restaurant Desde 1911, a tribute that Pescaderías Coruñesas wanted to pay to the family legacy, based on the search for excellence and deep respect for the sea, and to those generations of fishmongers who, with hard work and hard work, managed to make Madrid the capital of fresh fish and seafood in Spain.
Other outstanding categories were the award for the best product of Madrid for Garbanzo de Daganzo; the best traditional dish for Soldaditos de Pavía, which are cod slices served at Casa Labra since 1860. La Duquesita, in the confectionery section, or Berria, in the award for wines and spirits, also won their awards.
