Doritos launches disruptive nacho cheese-flavoured liqueur

The American brand enters the world of distilled spirits to introduce the 'cheese factor'.

The cheese drink becomes a blend brought to life by flavour innovator Empirical, with whom Doritos has managed to achieve the desired result: creating a drink that smells and tastes just like its spicy Doritos.

To truly capture the essence of the iconic crisp brand, layers of Doritos nacho cheese were ‘extracted’ using real crisps via ‘vacuum distillation’, which works at lower temperatures and helps preserve the full spectrum of flavours.

Doritos is synonymous with cultural disruption and offering our fans unexpected and daring experiences,’ says Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing for Frito-Lay North America. ‘We’re always pushing our fans to try new things, so we thought it was time to disrupt the spirits category by offering our iconic nacho cheese flavour in a bottle.’

Next month, customers will be able to get their hands on a bottle of Empirical x Dorito Nacho Cheese Spirit for $65. They will be available for pre-order from 13 December at doritos.x.empirical.co.
