Clara María González de Amezúa‘s legacy in the kitchen will be eternal. The businesswoman and gourmet would become one of the great visionaries and pioneers of her time by opening Alambique in 1975, the first cookware store with a cooking school in Madrid. A key center in the development of national culinary talents in which she would teach some of the most important chefs in the world such as Alain Ducasse, Paco Roncero, Alberto Chicote, Isabel Maestre, Toño Pérez or Ángel León.

The gastronomic icon’s store was also an essential pillar in the culinary evolution in Spain, with 22 branches spread throughout the country, which he developed together with four partners. A store that, after 5 decades, continues to transcend in Madrid both for its products and for the cooking courses it offers.

Clara María’s career and influence on gastronomy have been widely recognized with awards such as the National Gastronomy Award (twice) and the “Silver Spoon” Award in the United States for her work in popularizing Spanish gastronomy.
