It is well known that David Lynch is one of Hollywood’s most famous directors, but he is also a person with quirks and hobbies, like many film geniuses. Among these peculiar habits, there are also some obsessive eating habits, which the director himself has commented on in numerous interviews. Lynch has even stated that he is capable of eating exactly the same thing every day for months -or even longer-, especially when he spends more time at home.
His daily menu consisted of a simple breakfast: cappuccino in the mornings. Although at other times he had many coffees throughout the day. For lunch, one of his most recurrent meals was “tomatoes, tuna, feta cheese and olive oil”, and he emphasised that he ate it “every day”. For dinner, the director was also fixed in his habits and used to dine on “chicken and broccoli with a little soy sauce”.
On another occasion he also commented that for a while he was eating tuna with lettuce and cottage cheese, but he got tired of it ‘quickly’, after three months. As for the food obsession that lasted the longest, Lynch confessed that he once ate the same thing every day for seven years: a Bob’s Big Boy chocolate milkshake and coffee at half past two in the afternoon.
