Coachella 2025: viral reactions to its gastronomic line-up

Everyone seems to want to go to Coachella, whether it’s for the cast of celebrities attending the festival, its iconic shows or its huge online impact. However, there is one reason why they may be rethinking their attendance from now on: its food line-up, which has been criticised to the hilt on social media.

The 2025 edition of the festival, which took place from 11 to 13 April, this year featured dishes from some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. Adrian Garcia was in charge of organising the entire culinary experience of the festival, which, as he describes on his official website, includes ‘popular food trucks, VIP tabletop dining, shaded food pavilions and well-known chefs inventing desert-friendly collaborations’.

In the midst of this idyllic paradigm of festival food and drink, attendees wanted to show their outrage at Coachella’s overpriced and inedible concessions, decrying the festival as a ‘money trap’. ‘The fact that GENERAL ADMISSION costs $600 and you still have to pay that much for the food in the middle makes me irrationally furious.’

Attendees criticised the event’s food offerings for their ‘diabolical’ prices in TikTok videos showing what they ate and what they paid. Ruth Viveros shared in an April 11 video that she spent $102 for two plates of three tacos, a plate of loaded nachos and two lemonades, with each lemonade costing $17 per cup. ‘They’re not good, not good at all,’ he said of the tacos. ‘The tortillas are like frozen.’

‘Expensive. Most things cost $15 to $20. Meals are $20 to $30,’ one person responded. Another wrote: ‘It’s $30 for Nate’s Nashville hot chicken slider and fries. LMAO.
