The Irish actor joined his co-stars Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt for an interview for PEOPLE‘s annual Oscars issue. There, the cast would address many topics, including filming experiences, clams or how they decided to relax or hang out after filming Oppenheimer.
In that final part, with which they would close a new chapter in their lives, the film’s protagonist admitted that he took to eating a lot of cheese when he finished playing scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer.
When asked about the reasons behind the rampant act, Blunt didn’t hesitate to go ahead and explain. ‘Because he needed to decompress. Cheese is a great decompressor,’ said the actress, who played his wife in the film.
The actor, who once expressed that he had coped with the SAG-AFTRA actors’ and screenwriters’ strike by eating cheese, then interjected into the conversation to point out that he was already well stocked. ‘I got a lot of free cheese,’ he said.
But what exactly is the cheese he has this obsession for? To which he replied: ‘Good cheese. Like a cured cheddar from the cheddar companies,’ joked Murphy, adding that ‘he could take a whole wheel of Parmesan cheese if he could get it through customs.’
