In the new Uber Eats advert, Cher attempts to turn back time, just like the lyrics of her iconic 1989 song ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’. The spot begins with the Grammy winner humming the song as she prepares to call the Uber Eats app’s ‘time machine’.
The miniature machine then arrives at her home, and the singer tells it to ‘take you back to the 1980s’. However, Cher finds herself transported to the top of a canyon in a 1960s town. When she gets there, they start calling her an old woman and a witch, to which she replies: ‘I’m not a witch, I’m an icon’.
The ad shows a quick trial before the singer ends up tied to a stake in one of the most iconic outfits of her career as the villagers play an instrumental version of her song. About to be burned, Cher asks one of the villagers if her dazzling black ‘boots’ have been stolen.
