The legendary Café Comercial wants to bring out its punkier side this fall thanks to the new collaboration it has prepared with Kitchen 154, the temple of Asian street cuisine in the capital. It is a special menu that will only be offered on October 29 and November 5, in 2 dinner shifts.

For this special occasion, Café Comercial, an emblem of traditional cuisine and Madrid’s cultural scene, with its head chef, Carlos Moreno, has teamed up with Álex Zurdo (Gurumasala, author of the book “Eating in the streets of Asia”) and Andrés Fernández, heart and soul of Kitchen 154, to serve Thai food through seven dishes, with all the essence of Southeast Asian gastronomy based on spice, spices and flavors very different from those usually offered by Café Comercial.

The surprising proposals that diners will be able to taste are the following dishes:

  • Zamburiñas Nam Jim Josper (Seared scallops with Nam Jim sauce and pork jowl)
  • Sepia Tod Makhwaen (Deep fried cuttlefish with northern Thai spices)
  • Hoi Malaeng Puu Phad Nam Prik Pao (Sautéed mussels with toasted chili pepper jam and Thai basil)
  • Yum Som Oh Takrai (Salad of grapefruit, lemongrass, shrimp and grilled bacon)
  • Yum Mamuang Gai Tod (Isaan green papaya, apple and mango salad with fried chicken)
  • Gaeng Hanglay Moo (Thai-Burmese pork cheek curry with pineapple and pickled garlic)
  • Gaeng Khiao WanNeua (Southern Thai style grilled beef rib green curry)
