If a few days ago we knew the menu that chef Wolfgang Puck will serve at the Oscars party, now it has also been revealed that guests will toast with Brad Pitt’s champagne for the third consecutive year. The popular actor launched four years ago his successful Fleur de Miraval, together with the Perrin family and Péters, being the only French winery dedicated exclusively to rosé champagne.
And it was the champagne served at the 2022 and 2023 Oscars. Each bottle costs about $300. The fact that Fleur de Miraval replaced Piper-Heidsieck, the regular champagne at the film festival, is a good indication of the quality and prestige that Brad Pitt’s winery has acquired.
In addition, in an exclusive interview with People magazine, the winemaker of Brad Pitt’s winery, Alexis Blondel, has recommended some tips for those who dare to toast with this exclusive champagne from home, as if he were at the Oscars gala. Blondel has revealed that the ER3 edition, which will be served at the Oscars, pairs perfectly with Japanese food. But for a more casual evening at home, it can also be paired with mac & cheese, shrimp cocktail or any dish with tomato.
When it comes to serving it, Blondel proposes in People to pour it into a wine glass -not a champagne glass-, and to swirl the bottle while holding the cork, and not the other way around. Finally, he also proposes a more affordable option within Brad Pitt’s cellar: the Petite Fleur, which costs about $100 a bottle. “This would be the perfect champagne to open and serve at a dessert dinner,” the winemaker explains in the magazine.
