As part of the 2025 Super Bowl, there was another food commercial that eclipsed the scene with an unexpected all-star cast, this time consisting of Aubrey Plaza, Michael Shannon and Bad Bunny. The actors kick off the promotional clip with a fight to see who is ‘saltier’ inside a private club where smiles are forbidden and a certain protocol is required to gain access and perform.
The 30-second Ritz ad begins in Salt Flats, Utah at the Ritz Salty Club in which Plaza and Shannon are shown scowling at club members. One man yells out that he hasn’t been given exact change, which sets the mood in the salt sanctuary. ‘These are our people,’ Plaza says, and Shannon adds, ‘our salty brothers.’

‘The White Lotus’ star claims she’s the saltiest in the room, to which Shannon replies, ‘Saltier than me? When I smile, people think it’s a glitch.’ And she bares her teeth in the most unnatural way possible. ‘Please,’ Plaza retorts. ‘I’m the human version of Monday,’ he says, then hisses.
Next, Bad Bunny enters the scene exclaiming, ‘I love them!’ as he holds up a cookie as if he’s toasting, smiling, and breaking the rules.
‘Read the sign, buddy!’ shouts Shannon, and the camera pans to a big red sign that reads ‘No Smiling’. Bad Bunny brushes it off and Plaza scolds him, pointing out that their cheerful behavior could get them kicked out of the Salty Club. The artist then lowers his glasses, as he replies, ‘So what?’
