The bar of this Madrid classic will be reserved exclusively for Sunday 26th, Monday 27th May and Sunday 9th and Monday 10th June to present the traditional and Asian fusion that Café Comercial x Asian Army has designed.
Café Comercial will delight diners during these days with a special menu created in conjunction with the Southeast Asian cuisine restaurant, focusing on homemade gastronomy and street food with dishes featuring the flavours of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
The proposal will be orchestrated around nine dishes and two desserts designed by the culinary duo Isadora Tan of Asian Army and Carlos Moreno, the chef of Comercial. Their identities will be harmoniously diluted in dishes such as sate ayam rempah, a skewered chicken with Indonesian spices, fried okra with yoghurt, coriander and mint sauce, torreznos with curry and black pepper sauce or oxtail nem.
To continue the experience, they will serve dishes such as Isan-style fried sea bass with herb salad and toasted Khao Khua rice, phad phak boong fai dai with morning glory and fermented yellow bean, mini Laksa deluxe, a spicy soup made according to Isadora’s grandmother’s traditional recipe with prawns, shrimp, fish balls and tofu, or Pad Thai cañí, bound with Madrid-style tripe sauce.
The final part will be dedicated to savouring exoticism through surprising desserts such as coconut mochi ice cream with pandan sticky rice, jackfruit, peanut and toasted sesame and the Thaïlova, pavlova with coconut cream, slightly spicy mint and basil syrup and sour passion fruit soup.
