The ‘Desde Valencia para Valencia‘ initiative, led by Ricard Camarena, Begoña Rodrigo and Quique Dacosta, in collaboration with the Valencian Business Association (AVE), which has been joined by countless culinary stars such as Dabiz Muñoz, Diego Guerrero and Paco Roncero, continues to mobilize other chefs to raise funds to help revive the economy and the lives of those affected by the hurricane.
Ángel León and Rafa Zafra have been the latest to join this powerful cause through a charity dinner that will take place on December 13 at 8.30 pm at the Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel Seville. All proceeds raised there will go to help recover the devastated areas, with a special focus on restoring the self-employed, businesses and small businesses.
A total of 200 people will be able to sit at the table of this evening of solidarity and taste the ode to the sea of the chef of Aponiente and Estimar with which they will be immersed in a menu that will reflect two different ways of viewing the water.
Cooking with Rafa Zafra is something that we owed us. And we have been presented with this beautiful opportunity to cook together for Valencia. We are going to give everything to raise as much as possible and help our Valencian friends. Two hundred people will be able to collaborate with this cause, in a unique tribute to the sea. Two different ways of looking at water, two chefs united by Valencia and by the passion for the sea. The Atlantic and the Mediterranean, giving the best. I thank all our partners who make this collaboration possible and we look forward to seeing you on December 13 in Seville’, says Ángel León.
For his part, Rafa Zafra, expresses about the initiative: ‘It is a privilege and an honor to be able to cook with my dear brother and teacher, Ángel León. Even more so when it comes to this solidarity initiative “From Valencia for Valencia” led by my colleagues Ricard Camarena, Begoña Rodrigo and Quique Dacosta, with the aim of raising funds for the areas affected by the DANA. For the first time we unite our passions for the sea: the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, two unique ways of understanding it, poetry and innovation, product and purity and above all, two chefs united in the same heart to do our bit for this great cause. You do not know how excited I am to share this day with all my countrymen. On December 13th in my beloved Seville at the impressive Hotel Alfonso XIII we will sail the seas together for Valencia’.
