Beyoncé introduces SirDavis Whisky, a liquid expression in which she experiments with innovation as part of her ever-evolving renaissance era. She does so in collaboration with Moët Hennessy to pay tribute to her Southern roots.

The global icon reinvents himself once again after having explored other fields such as fashion or beauty to take the VIP stage of spirits with this whiskey inspired by his family legacy, and his undying love for Japanese whiskey.

The whiskey is titled in honor of Davis Hogue, his great-grandfather, who was a farmer and moonshiner in the South. According to the official release statement, Hogue ‘hid bottles of whiskey in the empty knots of cedar trees’ during Prohibition for friends and family to find. Continuing that legacy four generations later, Beyoncé thus reimagines this American whiskey in which she dilutes her and her grandfather’s passion into a subtle and elegant iteration.

‘I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whiskey, and I wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,’ says Beyoncé. ‘When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a whiskey maker, I felt my love for whiskey was predestined. SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, bringing us together through a new shared legacy.’ By partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have created a delicious American whiskey that respects tradition but also allows people to experience something new and unique in the category. You can taste it best welcome, SirDavis’.

In tune with the singer’s home state, the whiskey is finished, blended and bottled in Texas, redefining traditional whiskey in a premium way, as Moët Hennessy tapped one of its renowned Master Distillers, Dr. Bill Lumsden, to lead the whiskey’s creation.

Lumsden conceptualized the liquid through a blend of 51% rye and 49% malted barley. He then incorporated some classic whiskey-making elements into SirDavis Whisky, resulting in a smooth, slightly spicy flavor profile with a subtle sweetness, ‘of bold sophistication’.

Although SirDavis Whisky has not yet been released, it was submitted anonymously to prestigious spirits competitions, receiving numerous accolades such as the award for Best American Whiskey in its class at the SIP Awards 2023. An iconicity that also envelops its sculptural design sealed by the horse symbol that represents the graphic identity of its ‘Renaissance’ album.

SirDavis has a retail price of $89 and can be pre-ordered on their website. The product will be available throughout the USA, and in stores in London, Paris and Tokyo from September 2024.
