The 5th edition of the Spanish Burger Championship, held at the Estrella Galicia MEGA Museum in A Coruña, crowned The Carnivan Superbar‘s EM2 version as the ‘Best Burger in Spain’.

During the competition, the 15 finalists competed for the grand prize after being selected from more than 450 establishments from all over Spain. The jury that would dictate the ranking of burgers was made up of personalities such as the president of Madrid Fusión, Jose Carlos Capel, the gastronomic populariser, Alejandra Ansón or starred chefs such as Fernando Agrasar.
After coming second in the 2024 edition, the creators of the ‘EMMY’, so named last year, decided to work hard to improve the burger and turn it into its ultimate expression: the ‘EM2’. It is a succulent creation made with 50% beef cutlet meat with 90 days of maturation, and cow’s tail. It is accompanied by cured bacon, onion caramelised with Modena, sweet and sour gherkin and a parmesan cheese tuile, inside a potato starch and butter bun. The burger’s magic is rounded off with a slightly spicy secret sauce made from a recipe that they have not yet disclosed.
Beyond the winning burger, the second position this year goes to the ‘Las Vegas’ burger from Temple Smash Burger (Castellón), while the third best burger in Spain, and the Best in Madrid, is the ‘Briochef origins’ from BRIOCHEF BURGERS, located in Aravaca.
