This is a star recipe that I first tried with Guy Fieri about a decade ago.

Matthew McConaughey‘s passion for gastronomy has been immortalized within audiovisual culture and/or on the internet on several occasions. From his viral tuna salad to his Tequila Pantalones, which he shares with his wife Camila Alves. The actor has also shared kitchen with some celebrities like Gordon Ramsay or adventures with Guy Fieri, with whom he would star in a 2012 episode of ‘Diners, Drive-ins and Dives’.

The two teamed up to try one of the star Texan recipes at a restaurant in Texas. One that Matthew had never tried, despite having demonstrated his Texas pride on countless occasions such as when he talked about their jalapeño sausage and spicy corn. This time, he would be smitten with another dish: the King Ranch Chicken Casserole.

In the episode, Fieri and McConaughey visited the Monument Cafe in Georgetown, Texas, to sample the typical Tex-Mex dish, which is a Tex-Mex casserole layered with tortillas, chicken, cheese and a creamy sauce made from soups, vegetables and spices.

After tasting the chicken recipe, Fieri asked McConaughey, ‘Could you eat a plate full of that?’ to which he replied ‘easily’ with great enthusiasm.
