King Charles of England has commissioned Stanley Tucci to design the menu for his upcoming party at Highgrove, his country house, to be held in 2025. The event, which will celebrate Anglo-Italian relations, intends to serve a menu that, as Tucci revealed to The Telegraph will be presented as ‘an exchange of their two cultures’.
Tucci has been devising the banquet for the royalist feast, which will include roast pork, kale and squash, ‘all those nice, wintry, heavy things,’ Tucci said, adding that the food will ‘showcase all these amazing British products’.
Calabrian chef Francesco Mazzei will also cook for the evening, a personality with whom Tucci has a close personal bond. Mazzei was the chef at his own wedding to literary agent Felicity Blunt.
The category or theme of the event at Highgrove will be ‘fashion and slow food‘, two areas integral to the work of the King’s Foundation, which uses its base at Highgrove in Gloucestershire to offer training programs and workshops on heritage and craft skills – such as embroidery – that the King fears are at risk of being lost to future generations.
