‘Mugaritz. Sin pan ni postre‘ is the new documentary film, directed by Paco Plaza, which explores the creative process of the menu at Andoni Louis Aduriz‘s iconic two-Michelin-starred restaurant.
Every year at Mugaritz, time stops in the outside world at the fall of autumn. From November to April, his team works behind closed doors to design a different gastronomic proposal. As if it were a renaissance driven by a creative challenge, Aduriz directs this culinary transition based on innovation and experimentation.
That is precisely the concept developed in the new documentary film ‘Mugaritz. Sin pan ni dessre’, produced by Movistar+ in collaboration with Fonte Films, which worships the figure of Andoni as one of the most influential chefs of our time.
That is the synopsis that makes every year a new chapter opens in the restaurant. That makes a menu be born and die to give way to a new era, following the reinvention of the chef that the viewer can now witness; understanding his cuisine as a creative expression with which to break the rules and conventions around gastronomy.
‘Mugaritz. Sin pan ni postre‘ has already transcended the scene, winning the award for ‘Best Film’ in the ‘Culinary Zinema’ section of the San Sebastian Festival. There, the jury wanted to highlight the piece for having highlighted the importance of teamwork and creative freedom, as well as listening, and for having taken risks and faced frustration with humanity and companionship.
This high-end audiovisual work, of which even chefs like Dabiz Muñoz have expressed their ‘admiration’ on the Internet, is now available on the Movistar Plus+ platform.
