This company is selling cans of ‘fresh air‘ from the world’s most touristy lake for about $11. In Lago di Como, located in northern Italy, tourists can from now on take home this insignificant souvenir about the paradisiacal destination.
It is the idea of marketing with almost anything that has led ItalyComunica to offer cans of air that, as they review, contain about 400 milliliters of ‘100% authentic air’ from the area. ‘Take with you a little piece of Lake Como, a luxury souvenir, perfect for anyone who wants to rediscover the peace and elegance of this paradisiacal corner, sealed in a can’, reads the company on its website.
The concept arose after the success of an e-commerce portal that its founder, Davide Abagnale created to sell posters of the place, inspired by the amount of these cards in cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles. That idea would evolve and would be canned in these products sealed by an image of a boat crossing the lake, which have been criticized globally by countless detractors who relate it to a scam; beyond questioning its authenticity and environmental impact of bottling air.
