Like many other rappers in the beverage industry, Pusha T wanted to pay tribute to his musical career through the title of his new coffee brand ‘Gridin’; a reference to the track he made rap history with Malice when they were the duo Clipse.
To give his community a taste of the product, the rapper will host a series of exclusive pop-ups in Los Angeles to showcase his premium, high-caffeine black coffee blend. One that encapsulates the drive and power that has defined his career.
Grindin will premiere its mix at Café Tropical, a coffee shop characterised by its deep cultural roots with which it is synchronised on high frequency. Apparently, its owners in the 1970s were involved in a cocaine smuggling operation, a theme that T and Malice recounted in Grindin’.
Following his celebrated Clipse reunion last year, Pusha T will return to Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival on 16 November, where attendees will be able to get their hands on all of Grindin’s offerings. These pop-ups will bring forward the brand’s national drop, scheduled for early 2025.
In connection with Grindin Coffee‘s urban and underground cultural background and Pusha T’s aesthetic, the label has collaborated with workwear brand Carhartt WIP to present an exclusive merchandise collection. The capsule includes a hoodie -which will be available only at Café Tropical- and other festival-specific items such as T-shirts, sweatshirts and tote bags, which will be available for purchase at the Camp Flog Gnaw venue at Dodger Stadium.
