With Ni Mú Arte, the artistic platform that represents him, Pepe Baena presents his new exhibition that will open on 4 December at Prodigioso Volcán. The avant-garde messiah of still lifes will exhibit an unpublished series of works such as ‘Puchero’, an oil on linen 56×81 cm, in which all the necessary ingredients to carry out the Spanish classic are illustrated in a hyper-realistic way.
With dazzling works in his costumbrista imagery stimulated by the national idiosyncrasy, in which he mixes family scenes and foods such as dinosaurus biscuits with Cola Cao, churros with chocolate or beers, Baena has accumulated countless awards that recognise his social portrait of the times in which we live. One that, above all, reflects the reality of the Andalusian land, the sea and its real environment.
Beyond the exhibition, Pepe Baena is also presenting a new project with Ni Mú Arte, which consists of printing some of his paintings on limited edition numbered sheets that will soon be on sale through his Instagram, as well as during Baena’s exhibition at Prodigioso Volcán.
