While the DANA hits Barcelona, the people continue to help the people, in the absence of military and political intervention, mobilising in the collection of food and basic necessities from various points in the city. Several organisations, entities and libraries have joined the cause by opening spaces in which to store basic necessities to send to the areas of Valencia most affected by the hurricane.

Barcelona City Council, in collaboration with Banc dels Aliments, has set up a total of 14 public libraries to collect food and basic necessities.
