If you’re looking for an epic gastronomic ride, this is the place for you. Whether you belong to the cycling community or not, Grupeta Bar is presented as the new meeting point in the capital where you can experience its dynamic gastronomy from day to night.

This new space, designed by Manuel Verdejo and Javier Díaz, revolves around vintage cycling: a concept represented through the aesthetics of the premises and its culinary proposal largely inspired by the great tours such as the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France or the Vuelta a España.

Within the architectural work signed by the BATE studio, classic elements and a relaxed atmosphere that evokes the typical bars of the 60s and 70s, with steel bar and tables, are installed. An idea to which the founders of the workshop and the bike store Dog Days have offered a contemporary twist to adapt it to the current era.

Its creators seek with this new project to bring cycling to everyone, and bring together the cycling community of Madrid that was waiting for a place like this in which to develop events.

In addition, the space with capacity for 37 people inside and 17 on the terrace, has several details that will make cyclists ‘feel at home’, such as a locker, hangers for helmets and a tap at street level in which to cool off after practicing sport.

Breakfast at Grupeta Bar is served in the form of tomato or avocado toast, scrambled eggs and bacon, salmon and cream cheese or French toasts with mascarpone and red fruits. A series of dishes that can be accompanied with different specialty coffees or healthy drinks such as kombucha, smoothies, cold brew or infusions.

After this morning culinary ritual, its offer is transformed at noon to serve options that remain until the evening. This second pass includes reinvented tapas such as anchovy gilda, Flanders salad, torreznos or fried squid with kimchi mayonnaise. In addition, there are dishes such as burrata, mixed pork shoulder, grilled cheese with sundried tomato butter or roast beef sandwich.

But that’s not all, its proposal also makes a nod to cycling competitions through cheese and sausage boards that receive the title of ‘La Vuelta a España’, ‘Giro d’Italia’ and ‘Tour de France’. Finally, in the dessert section we can find delicacies such as a creamy chocolate ganache, olive oil and salt, a tiramisu, as well as several homemade ice creams.

The graphic design and merchandising have just expanded and completed the cycling experience with a collection of plates, T-shirts and caps stamped with the Grupeta Bar identity.
