The Italian-American designer known for decontextualizing food and devising quirky edible designs with food brands, once again draws inspiration from gastronomy to sculpt a bag in the shape of a croissant.
Nik Bentel has teamed up with one of Europe’s most beloved supermarkets, LIDL, to transform one of its flagship products into a buttery croissant. A creation in the shape of a purse that feeds the inside of a cross bag that evokes the typical bakery bags with precision.
The bag is presented as an exclusive piece, made of leather, which awaits inside that mini croissant-shaped purse. In addition, it offers two options with which to adjust the strap so you can adapt it to your style.
Despite the fact that the prices of Bentel’s works are quite high, this item counted with a lower price of $65. Plus all proceeds from each purchase went to the children’s charity NSPCC.
The “Bentel Croissant Handbag” has already sold out in Nik Bentel‘s online store.
