The world’s first 100% plant-based hard-boiled eggs have become a reality to satisfy the entire vegan community. Made from plants, WunderEggs were inspired by founder Hema Reddy’s desire to create high-quality, convenient, minimally processed plant-based foods that are healthy and earth-friendly.
WunderEggs are presented as the latest innovation from U.S.-based Crafty Counter. Vegan eggs that are available in Whole Foods stores in the U.S. from 2023.
These ready-to-eat ‘eggs’ have been created in collaboration with food science experts and are composed of 100% plant-based ingredients: water, almonds, cashews, coconut milk and turmeric as a natural colorant.
However, despite the great novelty that this means for vegans, it seems that, for the moment, they have generated quite a lot of controversy among customers due to their texture and taste; resulting unconvincing in comparison with traditional eggs.
