Internet users rave about this culinary masterpiece, which they constantly compare to India’s flaky Rumali Roti flatbread. However, this version bakes in Korea as the newest attraction for Korea’s burgeoning food tourism that overshadows the West.
The viral ‘tissue bread‘ is presented as a creative concoction of the Truffle Bakery in Hannam-dong, Seoul, sculpted from delicate layers of bread meticulously stacked to form a single loaf.
Limited to just 100 units a day, the fascination of the woven bread lies in its ethereal lightness and flakiness, attributed to its intricate layering technique and texture of specially selected flours infused with French butter, which give it the rich, indulgent flavour that has led to it selling out daily before 2pm.
