The Roca saga‘s new multi-project is presented as a new extension of its culinary universe, which will open its doors on 16 May at the Castle of Sant Julià de Ramis, located on the Sants Metges mountain, according to Gastroeconomy.

The restaurant and hotel run by Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca will operate under the signature ‘Esperit Roca‘, which already gave its name to their distillery project. All of this will make up the brothers’ new gastronomic and cultural centre located just a few kilometres from the centre of Girona, which will also have a museum or exhibition space in which the 40-year history of El Celler de Can Roca will be portrayed, along with a shop with its products and a culinary academy.

The exhibition hall will be entitled ‘CCR Exhibition. Cuisine. Conscience. Reflection‘ and will immortalise through art the materialisation ‘from dream to reality’ under their creative vision. An identity that they have developed over the years through the family group JoRoFon S.L. with El Celler de Can Roca as their mainstay, and Can Roca as their parents’ bar that was conceived as the origin of it all.

A new culinary institution

The haute cuisine restaurant Esperit Roca, built by its industrial designer Andreu Carulla, will base its proposal on the reinterpretation of the iconic dishes of El Celler de Can Roca. As a continuation of Roca Mas Marroch, which was structured around the concept of reinventing historical dishes from his legacy.

Innovation and creativity will continue to fuel his proposal with a sweet menu made up almost 100% of Jordi Roca’s desserts. His restaurant will have two tasting menus, based on this idea of reinterpreting the classics of El Celler: the ‘6/2’, with 6 savoury dishes and two desserts, priced at 150 euros; and the ‘2/6′, with 2 savoury dishes and 6 desserts, for 115 euros. It will be completed with the alternative of ordering a la carte menu’, continues Gastroeconomy.

Josep Roca has been in charge of designing the liquid menu, which will have more than 80,000 bottles of wine, with a wine cellar located in the dome of the castle and its central part.

Hotel and shop

Beyond the restaurant, the academy and the museum, the Hotel Esperit Roca will be located in the upper part of the Castle of Sant Julià de Ramis. A four-star superior hotel distributed over 15 rooms represented as places in which to escape and disconnect. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to stroll through its gardens and enjoy its outdoor swimming pool.

Its shop will complete the megaproject, where you can find emblematic products from Casa Cacao, Rocambolesc, Esperit Roca Destilería and Roca Recicla, as well as books and merchandising from El Celler de Can Roca.
