It has been years since Dolly Parton entered the world of cooking. After launching a successful line of baked goods, the legendary singer has taken a step further and will publish a cookbook in September. But she will not do it alone, because in this new adventure she will be accompanied by “the best cook she knows”, that is, her sister Rachel Parton George. So a new celebrity cookbook is coming, this time from the hand of Dolly Parton and her sister.
Entitled Good Lookin’ Cookin’ (in reference to Hank Williams’ famous song, Hey, Good Lookin’), the book compiles the Parton sisters’ culinary offerings, which include no less than 80 recipes, including 12 festive multi-course menus for special occasions such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and other special occasions. Readers will discover classic American dishes such as country ham and cookies, barbecued ribs, their family’s favorite meatloaf or multicolored cabbage salad, among others.
The singer has announced via her Instagram that the cookbook will be published on September 17, in a text that highlighted the role of her sister within the project. “I wrote this book with my sister, Rachel, who might be the best cook I know. If you’re like us, you believe that good food and good times are the next best thing to pure love. So take a trip with us, into the kitchen,” the singer explained.
In addition to recipes, in the book the sisters share some tips for hosting events throughout the year. And also useful tips such as how much butter or whipped cream to include in a “Dolly Dollop”, what condiment is almost always on the table at Parton family meals or what special dish Rachel prepares for Dolly’s birthday.
