For all American barbecue lovers, today we bring you a classic recipe, delicious and, above all, very easy to make. It is the pulled pork or, what is the same, shredded pork that is usually cooked over low heat and the result is irresistible. Do you want to try it at home? Here is a pulled pork recipe to get you started.
Pulled pork recipe
Ingredients:
- One boneless pork shoulder (2 kg)
- Barbecue sauce
- 500 ml of cider, beer or white wine
- Brown sugar
- Smoked paprika
- Ground cumin
- Pepper
- Salt
Preparationn:
- In a bowl, mix together 2 teaspoons smoked paprika, ground cumin, pepper, salt and brown sugar, plus 1 teaspoon salt.
- To cook the pork, shake the shoulder well and place it in an ovenproof dish, skin side up.
- Pour the cider (or whatever you choose), cover the container and bake at 150 ºC for 4 to 8 hours, until tender and the meat falls apart. If you see that it is drying out, add more cider.
- Remove from the oven and check that the meat is ready. If it is, remove it from the pan, but leave the liquid.
- The next step is to pour the barbecue sauce through the pan along with the rest of the liquid, and reserve some of the sauce for dipping.
- Put the pulled pork back in, stir well and season to taste.
- Toast bread and you can make a sandwich and serve it with chips or coleslaw.
