Friday 3
Although the Mexican holiday of Day of the Dead is celebrated on November 2, this year you can also enjoy this famous tradition during this weekend. For the sixth year, Casa de México has prepared its Mega Altar de Muertos, which in this edition is entitled Que ni la muerte nos separe and pays tribute to 30 women from Mexican history. And to end the Mexican week, we propose a gastronomic plan to match. The Jerónimo restaurant by prestigious chef Enrique Olvera, located at The Madrid Edition hotel, has prepared a special menu for the Day of the Dead that can still be enjoyed on the evening of Friday, November 3. To celebrate this memorable day, the restaurant will serve a series of traditional proposals with his particular touch, including an exceptional tamale with eggplant and yellow mole; a chili stuffed with tuna and smoked chipotle; a grilled turbot with a cumin mole; sirloin steak in black recado, black garlic and chives; and for dessert, a pumpkin flan with a vermouth caramel.
All this paired with emblematic cocktails such as a Paloma, based on Volcán de Mi Tierra Tequila; the Mexican red wine Eclipse, from the Guadalupe Valley; or an exclusive tasting of mezcals. In addition, the evening will be presided over by a spectacular altar that has been set up on the premises. A great Friday night!

Saturday 4
From November 3 to 12 Madrid Hotel Week returns, 10 days full of activities in the most iconic hotels in the capital where, of course, you can enjoy gastronomic experiences and taste incredible cocktails. For example, on Saturday 4, you can visit the artistic and sensory workshop “Be Water, my friend. Beyond The Waterfall” that they have organized at the VP Plaza España Design hotel. Inspired by the sculpture of The Waterfall, by Pere Gifre, it will be an experience where art and creativity are combined between visual and sensory effects. It lasts one hour, costs 30 € and starts at 11 a.m. All info here.

Another hotel that this year also joins these special days is the Hotel Mayorazgo, which presents its ‘Madrid Sensations Cocktails’, a sensory tasting of emblematic cocktails inspired by Madrid. Proposals as castizas as castizos as Gin Cibeles (Gin, apple liqueur, kiwi syrup and Midori), La Pradera (Malibu, pineapple juice, blue Curaçao), Madrid Forever (Bourbon, Bayleis and chocolate syrup) or Sol de Madrid (Vodka, orange juice, blue Curaçao and grenadine). Sunday 5
On Sunday you deserve a good tribute at Steakburger, where you can try the new ‘Joe Burgerchallenge x La Finca’, which has been created by Joe Burgerchallenge in collaboration with the brand and is a blend created with selected beef from the Hereford and Holstein breeds aged more than 48 months and matured for 2-3 weeks. If you are a lover of good burgers, you must try this proposal, which is also available in the Horeca channel and can also be ordered on the La Finca website.
To cover the cultural dose of the weekend, we propose one of the plays that is triumphing in the capital, La madre de Frankenstein, at the María Guerrero theater. Starring Blanca Portillo and Pablo Derqui, among others, this text adapted by Almudena Grandes makes us travel to the 50’s, in the post-war period and Franco’s dictatorship, to enter a psychiatric hospital. And if you want to end the weekend with a different activity, then you can opt for one of the workshops that East Crema Coffee is organizing around coffee and culture. For example, the Latte Art Workshop, to learn the art of decorating the surface of an espresso with milk through techniques that will teach you to create striking designs such as hearts or rosettes.
