Sacai designs innovative Japanese menu with Menchirashi udon temple

Chitose Abe's Japanese brand Chitose Abe joins forces with Menchirashi to offer a dining experience in Hong Kong.

Sacai is entering the culinary world to extend its brand experience through ‘THE noodle by Menchirashi’, which will be rolled out at Landmark‘s cutting-edge Basehall dining concept.

Menchirashi has become a cult restaurant for homemade udon noodles among Harajuku’s fashionable crowd, which is also known for its deep-fried tempura and onigiri rice balls to accompany its udon bowls.

Well, fashion and culinary love have now united this udon temple with the Asian brand known for bringing sportswear to high fashion, serving up a unique experience in which Menchirashi will present its collection of popular dishes alongside collaborative menus with CURRY UP®, a Tokyo-based curry restaurant produced by iconic designer NIGO; as well as Hong Kong’s Yardbird, a Michelin-starred modern Japanese Izakaya.

The menu will include dishes such as ‘Udon Carbonara Menchirashi’, ‘Cold Udon with s(acai) Tempura’, ‘CURRY UP®︎ Keema Curry Udon’, and ‘Yardbird Tori Paitan Udon’ chicken broth.

During the same period, a sacai x Menchirashi pop-up shop will also open at BELOWGROUND on the basement floor of the Landmark Atrium where fashion items such as graphic t-shirts, a cap and a plate stamped with CURRY UP®︎ x Menchirashi designs will be available for purchase.

sacai THE noodle by Menchirashi is scheduled to launch on 20 October and will be available exclusively while stocks last.
