The Trocadero Group boosts its expansion outside Andalusia with the opening of its tenth restaurant, the first in Madrid. Specifically, the Andalusian firm arrives in the capital with Trocadero Commodore, recovering the iconic Mayte Commodore space. “We are excited to continue the tradition, besides being a good opportunity to give that name to Trocadero Commodore that so many people recognize and place,” explained the general manager of Trocadero Group, Jorge Hernandez-Gil.
The Trocadero Group has chosen Madrid as part of its expansion outside the Costa del Sol not only because of the need for an emblematic space, but also because it represents a return to its roots. Dioni, the founder of the Trocadero Group, began his business career in the capital by opening cocktail bars, cafés and restaurants. “Basically, it’s a return home,” said the group’s general manager.
The group has set itself the target of closing the year with a workforce of 900 employees and a turnover of 30 million euros, after boosting its presence on the Costa del Sol with openings in Tarifa and Malaga last summer, to which is now added the one in Madrid.
Trocadero, which was founded in Marbella in 1995 by Dionisio Hernández-Gil in a small wooden kiosk on Santa Petronila Beach, currently has 10 establishments in Marbella (Trocadero Playa, Trocadero Arena, Trocadero Petit Playa, Trocadero Zanzibar), Sotogrande, Estepona, Benalmádena, Tarifa, Málaga and Madrid.
In this way, Trocadero Commodore maintains the spirit of the beach bar in Madrid with a cheerful and casual character, friendly service and a gastronomic offer in which fish plays a prominent role. The menu follows the structure of the rest of the group’s spaces, with an emphasis on fish, rice dishes and meats, as well as a ‘Japanese’ section, which will incorporate new dishes with nods to Madrid’s cuisine.
