The ‘Bravas sin fronteras‘ from the Maño restaurant, prepared by José Gregorio Figueredo and Alberto Beltrán, were the best in the world in this contest in which creations from ‘Rosi La Loca’, from Madrid, and ‘TC 28 Beber y Comer’, from Mieres, won the second and third prizes.
The jury of the contest, headed by chef Víctor Martín, awarded this elaboration which, as the chef himself expressed to EFE, are ‘very tasty potatoes, which respect traditional cuisine with the exotic touch that José has added’.
In second place is the Madrid tavern Rosi La Loca, with bravas that stand out for their crunchy texture on the outside and buttery on the inside, as well as for their spicy touch.
Mario Arguelles of ‘TC 28 Beber y Comer’, from Mieres, took third place with his version of the dish entitled ‘Sobrabravas’: potatoes accompanied by a sobrasada brava sauce.
For her part, the president of the Provincial Council of Palencia, Ángeles Armisén, said during the awards ceremony that the winning dishes were a clear example of the mastery of the chefs when using potatoes to prepare their dishes and to value a product so typically Palencia as is the potato of the Ojeda and Valdivia of excellent quality.
