When singers go on a concert tour it is essential, in addition to taking care of their voice, to have a good physical preparation and nutrition. A show involves a great effort and wear and any setback can ruin the work done for months. For example, a bad meal, food poisoning or ingesting any inappropriate food or drink can have serious consequences, such as the cancellation of a concert -and all the millions of dollars in losses that would entail-. That is why more and more singers are focusing on food and hiring professional chefs to make food a priority.
This is the case of Beyonce, who is currently on a world tour with her Renaissance World Tour, triumphing all over the planet. According to The New York Times, Queen B has hired a team of 14 professional chefs to ensure that the singer and her crew are well fed. One of them is the chef and pastry chef Grant Bird, who prepares powerful and sophisticated sweets, such as black sesame, wasabi and white chocolate cookies, or dark chocolate with almonds and gluten-free coconut, among other delicacies. Or cakes like the one Grant himself shared on Instagram using the hashtag #queenbee in clear allusion to Beyonce.
The rest of the kitchen team working for the singer also includes three other personal chefs and a vegan cook, among others.
Companies specialized in mobile kitchens for music tours
Another singer who also has a good culinary team to endure the tough concerts is Lizzo. According to The New York Times, the company in charge of this task is Latitude 45 Catering. With a mobile kitchen that they take to each city where the singer performs, they prepare different healthy meals with juices and vegetable smoothies. They also include corn dogs, fried chicken sandwiches and other plant-based options such as couscous or pumpkin.
Latitud 45 Catering has been providing these services for over 20 years and is owned by Chris and Chelsea Mitchell, two music industry veterans. Their team of professionals specialize in fresh, modern food using the finest ingredients and adapting to the preferred cooking styles of the artists who hire them.
Other artists who hired this company to cook during their concerts have been Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Linkin Park, Rihanna, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Miley Cyrus, among others. They have also collaborated with important music festivals such as Burning Man.
